March 25th, 2014 • Read and annotate “Surveillance Cameras in Schools” • Highlight the arguments for each position • Make a T-chart (YES/NO) in your Interactive Notebook to record the arguments you identified (4-5 for each position) • Construct a FLEE Map (nice and neat) and choose a position. • Add: a three prong thesis statement, topic sentences, and a restatement of the thesis. HW: Draft three effective leads/hooks in your notebook.
March 26th • Thesis statement activity • Construct an effective lead for your essay using one of the seven strategies in your notebook. • Complete your FLEE Map by adding: • A well written introduction and conclusion • Topic sentences for each body paragraph • Examples and/or and explanation for each body paragraph.
