  3. To say where someone is RIGHT NOW, you can use the verb ESTAR. Conjugate ESTAR for the person you are talking about, then add the word “EN” for “in,” then add the place.

  5. You also use ESTAR to tell where items are located: • Just say the item, • then the form of estar, • then the preposition, then the other item: • The pencil is on top of the desk. = • El lápiz estáencima del escritorio.

  6. Fun fact: De +el = del ( when you have de and el next to each other, they combine to make DEL.

  9. Práctica: When you want to say where something or someone IS, you use ESTAR: Where is Pedro? ¿Dónde = where Está = is Pedro? =Pedro He is in the bathroom. Élestá en el baño.

  10. Where are Lidia and Laura? ¿Dóndeestán Lidia y Laura? They are in the principal’s office. Ellasestán en la oficina del director OR de la directora. Where are you? ¿Dóndeestás(tú)? I am in the cafetería.
