  3. About Me • Graduated from Delaware Valley College • B.A. in Business Education • Teacher at Hunterdon Central • 5 Years • Pursuing a Master’s from Drexel University • M.A. in Learning Technologies

  4. Overview of the Project • Students work in teams of four to plan, create, and present a business plan to “Sharks” throughout the quarter. • Think ABC’s Shark Tank

Overview of the Project • Schedule • 45 day, 4x4 block schedule, one quarter, 80 minute class • Roughly 8 full blocks dedicated the development of the business plan • Project Explanation • Given on Day 1in Syllabus • Groups are determined by: • Business Interest Questionnaire • Aptitude Test Score • Ability Level (based on teacher discretion) • Groups set-up by Day 10 (on block schedule) • Final Project (Business Plan) Packet given out then • For ease, students complete a Google Form • Teacher can sort/group in a spreadsheet

Delivery of Content • Instruction During Course Includes: • Should You Become an Entrepreneur? • Types of Businesses and Business Ownership • Entrepreneurs in a Market Economy • Business Plan • Marketing • Finance After each unit, time for discussion and application is given to the business teams.

  7. Overview of the Project • How do you keep it fair? • Importance of teamwork/collaboration • Team Contracts • Who are the Sharks? • Other teachers • Administrators (HR Manager, Principals, VPs, Supervisors) • Local business owners • Bank representatives

  8. Formative assessment • Teacher Check-ins • Teacher/Team Conferences • Periodic Review of Student Work • Students can turn in unfinished work for review, suggestions, and corrections
