  2. Who I Was • I was born in England in 1552. I died in 1618. • I was known as a soldier , writer , I was at war , and I was close with the queen. • At the time England was trying to get land in North America.

  3. Why I Was Important • I made an English colony in North America. • I sometimes went on my own and sent ships. • I was a knight under Queen Elizabeth the First.

  4. What Impact I had on the Americas • I wanted to claim land for the Queen. • I brought potatoes and tobacco to England. I made smoking popular in England.(Don’t smoke kids!) • I established a colony on Roanoke Island.

  5. When and Where I Made My Journey • I sent my first colonizing expedition in 1585.I sent my second colonizing expedition in 1587. • The expeditions started in England. • I explored Virginia, Carolina, and in South America, Guyana.

  6. How I Traveled • I traveled by boat.(Not a happy sight.) • People got sick on my expeditions. • Other explorers travel’s had storms , so I can assume mine also had some storms.

  7. Interesting Facts • The Queen soon hated me as soon as I married one of her servants. • When I died I gave the signal to let the axe drop. • It was rumored that the queen was walking and soon stopped at a puddle and I put my jacket over the puddle. • When I returned to the site of my second expedition, but the settlers disappeared. • While I was imprisoned, I wrote History Of The World.
