Never Lie • Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. • Eph. 5:28-31 husband and wife are one flesh • Gen. 2:22-25 Eve was from Adam’s rib • Closeness gives us the power to hurt one another more deeply than anyone else can • Love Buster: Dishonesty

  3. Never Lie • Do not misrepresent facts to make you look good, her look bad, or to win the argument • Discuss the issue (not attack and counter) • Do not use the terms: • Always (you always have a headache) • Never (you never remember my birthday) • “Everyone else gets to go, to have, to stay..”

  4. Never Explode • Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27 Neither give place to the devil.

Never Steal • Eph 4:28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. • Money issues destroy many marriages • Steal (selfish) by cheating (I Cor. 7:1-5) • Destroy their trust, take their self worth • Love Buster: Disrespectful Judgments

Never Corrupt • Eph 4:29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. • Negative (don’t say) Positive (do say) • Communicate with, not at, each other • Avoid Contamination Communication especially in front of others (Prov. 12:4, 18:14)

  8. Never Corrupt • Love Busters: Annoying Habits • Love Busters: Selfish Demands • Apply to the congregation (Eph. 4:1-3) • Friction goes beyond the home to your relationship with God (Eph. 4:30) • Empty the evil feelings (Eph. 4:31) • Fill yourself with goodness (Eph. 4:32)
