  1. Is your Ice-maker taking a longer time to produce ice ?? • Observe the symptoms • of malfunction and try DIY repairing • method before calling a repairman. • Symptoms may take time to • develop and recur if the machine • is not fixed the first time. • Most icemakers are • temperature-sensitive, and as the • freezer temperature rises and falls, • this sensitivity can cause symptoms • to be intermittent.

  2. Five main Symptoms • Ice cubes taste or smell bad. • water supply problems. • The ice is "slabbing;" cubes are freezing together • into blocks in the bin. • "Hollow" cubes. The ice cubes are "shelling," • or not freezing completely before the harvest cycle • tries to eject them from the mold. • The fill tube keeps filling with ice and blocking • the flow of fill water. • The icemaker is not working at all, or is • producing ice very slowly. http://www.a-1appliance.com

  4. SLABBING This generally occurs when the ice is not ejecting from the ice mold properly. If there are cubes left in the ice mold after a harvest cycle, the new water fill will overfill the mold for the next batch.

  5. Ice Mold Deposits Low water pressure can also cause the valve to leak, Sometimes badly enough to overfill or overflow the ice mold. However, this particular problem usually shows up as an ice-blocked fill tube. http://www.a-1appliance.com
