This document outlines the preliminary budget for materials required to construct two Shashlik matrices composed of LYSO and lead (Pb) or tungsten (W) configurations. Each matrix features 25 towers made of 2 mm thick LYSO crystal plates and incorporates layers of Pb or W absorbers along with Tyvek paper. It includes detailed material cost estimates, with a total projected cost of approximately $98,000 for both configurations. The readout efficiency, stochastic terms, and potential readout methods are also discussed.

Preliminary Budget for Materials for Two LYSO Crystal Based Shashlik Matrices Each Composed of 25 Towers:Pb+LYSO and W+LYSO Harvey Newman & Ren-Yuan Zhu California Institute of Technology March 27, 2013 Meeting for Discussion of the Disposition of the Second Year Generic R&D Funding
LYSO/Pb & W Shashlik Cells Rectangular towers consist of 2 mm thick LYSO crystal plates, 4 mm Pb or 2 mm W absorbers, and 0.15 mm Tyvekpaper layers. Each tower has 25 X0 length, 1.1 RM transverse dimension and about 25% sampling fraction. Readout with four Y11 fibers has about 0.5% light collection efficiency measured by a PMT with air-gap coupling. The Stochastic term is expected to be 9%. The total LO is comparableto PWO crystals with PMT readout. The LO would be higher with Si APD readout.
LYSO Plate Quotation $45/$30 per 2 mm LYSO plate with holes for Pb/W cells respectively LYSO/Pb LYSO/W
Lead Plate Quotation $23.5 per 4 mm Pb plate with 5% antimony + one time environmental disposal fee of $500 Lead Plate TyvekPaper
W Plate Quotation $31 per 2.5 mm W plate with 95% W, 3.5% Ni and 1.5% Fe W Plate Tyvek Paper
Material Cost of 25 Cell Matrices Cost estimates based on quotations received Total material cost is $ 98k = $ 52k + 46k for the two 25-tower matrices: LYSO+Pb and LYSO+W
