[depends on where it is hidden] • The Law of Attraction: A Secret to Success, Happiness, Prosperity? • Secret? • It is within

Law of Attraction Mesmer: • Experimenting with the ability of the mind to control one’s body, and to control somebody else too. • Psychosomatic healing – mind/body – suggestion • New theory? – a way to understand what we can’t explain? [Old theory was magic and witchcraft.] • Magnetism: an invisible force within one body that exerts a controlling influence over another body. • Mesmerism: the theory that within, and between human bodies, there is a magnetic force which is controlled by the mind. • Clue: it’s all about control.

Baker Eddy: Malicious Animal Magnetism • Wattles, Hill, etc: Think & Get Rich! • Physics: electro-magnetic spectrum of energy • Psychology: attractive personality • New Thought: Magnet of your Mind • Clue: the analogy is not the Reality.

Principle of Alignment • Magnetism is an effect of alignment. • (+) and (–) poles of a magnet: • refer to the direction of the flow of one energy, • not two different energies, or different directions. • When the flow of energy is aligned objects bond – draw together – attract. • Attraction is not a force. • It is a result of alignment with the flow of energy. • It is a simplistic analogy, a disappointing theory.

Principle of Alignment • Love: the lodestone of Life.[analogy] • We are attracted/attractive to that which we are aligned with in some way – spiritually, mentally, physically, philosophically, emotionally, financially. • Law of Infinity: • It flows from within you, through you; not to you. • “All is Mind, and we must provide a receptive avenue for It, as It passes out through us into the outer expression of our affairs”. E. Holmes • Secret? • Power flows through Alignment.

Principle of Infinity • It (the Infinite) can’t bring it to you. • It can only bring forth what is within. • It can only bring it forth through you. • Secret? • It is within you, and you within It. • Gnostic Secret: • If you bring forth that which is within you, • that which you bring forth will save you. • If you do not bring forth that which is within you, • that which you do not bring forth will destroy you.

Law of AttractionScience of Mind, Chapter 18 Thought Atmosphere:[analogy] • What it will make depends wholly upon what we are thinking, and what we shall attract will depend upon that on which our thoughts dwell. • Taking as a starting point the idea that the essence of man’s life is God, it follows that he uses the same creative process. … As God’s thought makes worlds, and peoples them with living things, so our thought makes our world and peoples it with our experiences.[analogy] • [Question: Attracting to us or creating through us?] • To reduce the whole thing to its simplest form, whatever one reflects into Mind tends to take form.

It is that which emanates from within. It is the inner recognition of Reality. • [Clue: It is a Law of Love, a principle of recognition.] • Secret? • The recognition of Reality is Love. Those who Love are the most attractive.

Law of AttractionScience of Mind, Chapter 18 Attracting Success: • There is a Divine Principle; and what It does for us It must do through us. • So our success in business, the activity which we generate through the operation of the law, depends upon our ability to conceive. • See your success. • Keep your mind on thoughts of cheerfulness not depression.

Law of AttractionScience of Mind, Chapter 18 • Law of Correspondence • The limit of our ability to demonstrate depends upon our ability to provide a mental equivalent of our desires,… • As we contact this Higher Principle of our own lives • – which is Perfect and Complete, needing nothing, wanting nothing, knowing everything, being happy and satisfied • – and as we daily meditate upon this Indwelling God, we shall acquire a greater mental equivalent.

Religious Science teaches … • … us to accept It. • … us to align our self-concept with It. • … us to believe It – see It – live It. • … a law of being & becoming, not think & get rich. • … us to heal our mind. • … that the Intelligence which creates the body has the intelligence to recreate and heal it. • Secret: • healing the body need not be taught – it is natural.
