  3. Watch for the stories behind these fun facts in the presentation!! • I was in Iraq in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008 • I have a child born in each month that begins with J! The odds of that happening are….well I'm not sure • I saw my brother in Iraq, a task that seems much more difficult in the states • Both my sons have the same initials (not intentional) • J is for June, July and January…and Jacob and Jackson! 4. A brief look at my childhood • I was born in Auburn, IN on April 20th, 1984 • I grew up in the very small town of Corunna, IN • In my younger years I loved little league baseball • At the age of 15 I fell in love with skateboarding and basketball • From age 16-19 I worked in the meat department of Albrights Grocery Store in Corunna photo:www.timtim.com Back to table of contents

  6. Meet my Wife, Melissa;a true fighter • This is my wife Melissa, we got married in 2004. She is the mother of my three children and a fulltime student perusing an AAS in Medical Assisting, I am not sure how she does it. • Melissa only has two more semesters of school, she will graduate this Summer .

  7. Jacob Ryan 7-June-2005 This is my oldest child, Jacob. He is a kindergartener but reads at the third grade level. He loves to be outdoors, mostly fishing and soccer.

  8. Taylor Marie10- July-2007 This is my only daughter, she is sandwiched between the two boys at age 3. She loves to play with the neighbor girls, and her favorite cartoon is Batman.

  9. Jackson Reed There is not much to cover here as Jackson was just born on the 21st of January, 2011. We are excited to have him; almost as excited as his brother and sister.

  10. Maverick and Kutch • Both of them are named after characters played by Tom Cruise. Kutch is the oldest at 5 while Maverick is just over 1. They both love the Summer time, and dread the Winters. Back to table of contents

  11. What I have done for the last 7 ½ years 4 • In 2003 (prior to meeting Melissa and after one year of college) I decided to enlist in the US Army as a Unit Supply Specialist and Paratrooper. • My older brother had enlisted a year earlier which played a major role in my decision. • I am currently on recruiting duty in Rochester, MN • In the picture on the left, I await to load a Blackhawk helicopter so I can jump out at 1000 feet above ground level.

  12. First deployment to Iraq During my first trip to Iraq, I deployed with the 82nd Airborne Division to a military prison in October of 2005. We were replaced by the Navy in February of 2006. While deployed, I was sent to another base to have a weapon fixed, that base happened to be where my brother was stationed. It would be another five years before we crossed paths again, this last Winter

  13. Another trip to Iraq • Just before Christmas in December of 2006, I once again deployed with the 82nd ABN DIV and did not return until March of 2008. • We were the first unit of the surge, which was unique, but, I missed the first eight months of Taylor’s life. Back to table of contents

  14. Family vacation In 2008 we visited SeaWorld, the kids had a great time but did not like getting splashed by Shamoo. In 2009 we booked a three day stay at the Kalahari resort in the Wisconsin Dells, which is an African themed indoor and outdoor water park.

  15. Summer time in Minnesota

  16. What do we do in the Winter? • The winters here in Minnesota are pretty intense, so we love staying inside and watching the NFL. • Jacob and I also enjoy playing XBOX and Wii games together, while Taylor likes to play her V-Tech educational video game system. • Melissa will knit, and do other neat crafts with the kids when she isn't doing homework.

  17. Movies, music and books • My favorite movie is “Lucky Number Slevin” • I only watch the Discovery, History and Military Channel • I love the series “ Arrested Development” • I only read magazines and they usually deal with investing • The only type of music I do not like is really heavy metal Back to table of contents Photos: www.blu.ray.ign and www.examiner.com

  18. Future Goals • Afford my wife the time to complete her degree and begin work • Complete my bachelors degree at IPFW • Retire from the Army at age 39 • Find another Federal position • Provide my children with the opportunity to do whatever they wish to do, while instilling values in them • Most of all, I wish for the success of my children, not that of my own
