Physical changes -when matter changes size, shape, state, etc, but is still same matter Be able to identify an example of a physical change Chemical change –when new substances are created due to a reaction between substances Be able to identify an example of a chemical change What will we learn?

  4. One baking pan One box of yellow cake mix Two cans of peaches One stick of butter or margarine One plastic knife for cutting peaches What will we need? Yellow cake mix

  5. Pour peaches into pan, cut the pieces in half Pour cake mix over the peaches Spread it out carefully so it does not spill Cut up the margarine and place the pieces around on the cake mix Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes Are you ready?!?

  6. Divide white paper into four sections with a circle in the middle “PEACH COBBLER” Section1- Properties of cake mix Section 2- Physical Change - draw an example of a physical change and write a sentence about it Section 3- Chemical Change - draw an example of a chemical change and write a sentence about it Section 4 –Properties of peach cobbler While we wait…
