  1. xStack Switching East Coast Railways (ECoR) Bhubaneswar

  2. Customer Details • Created by partitioning the erstwhile South Eastern Railways way back in 1997. • ECoR wanted latest features for its Zonal Office building LAN with scalability in architecture, gigabit connectivity to the desktop, 10G on the Core. • The building has 2 blocks, each block with 4 floors. • Around 1200 UTP ports have to be deployed on the 1st phase for South block and similar number of ports for the North block. • Each CP/Floor has to be connected to the main Data Center over OFC backbone and both the blocks are to be connected with redundant 10G over OFC connectivity.

  3. Solution • Account mapping through close working relationship with the customer from day one in guiding them planning for a state-of-the-art building LAN. • Educating the customer about the new solutions on offer. • Competition was from Cisco who has also close working relationship with Railways. • Although costing has a maximum ceiling fixed by Railways, our solution was technically having better features than those offered by Cisco. On technical ground we ensured that ECoR prefers D-Link against CISCO as total bid price is fixed. At last Molex offered lower rates than D-Link and CISCO matched the rates of D-Link. • Similar order awaited following that north block is now ready to be commissioned.
