  2. #1- What is a Vocation? • A calling from God • What we are called to do with our lives

  3. Inception #2- Vocations are not only for priest and nuns Most people have been incepted by this idea Vocations include being called to the married life, single life or the religious life among other things

  4. #3- Religious Leaders Have Fun They do more than just pray and read the bible They have pizza parties and go on cool trips Have you met Fr. Greg? :)

  5. #4- Sisters vs. Nuns Sisters and nuns are not the same thin Nuns live a solitary life (cloistered) Sisters work within the community

  6. #5- What is a Brother? They are not priest They take a vow a dedication to Jesus Christ Their mission is about serving others

  7. #6- What is a Friar? They are called to live the evangelical counsels (vows of poverty, chastity and obedience) in the community The most prominent groups is the Order of Friars Minor, or the Fransiscans

  8. Similar to a Friar • Live a cloistered life • Live in a self-sufficient community • They are committed to a particular community or place #7- What is a Monk?

  9. #8- Building Blocks for a Great Vocation Don’t give up even through the hard times You can get to the super-cool fun stuff after this • Start with the basics • Good relationship with God • Listen and trust in God

  10. #9- How to Find Your Vocation Use your mind to think about what God wants for us Pray to God that you do the right thing Keep your mind open to all options

  11. #10- Do You Pray for Your Future Spouse? You should want your spouse to be making good choices You should pray for them to maintain a good relationship with God Hopefully they are praying for you too

  12. #11- The Single Life Could be a transitional vocation Could also be your permanent vocation It’s okay to be single! ;)

  13. #12- Your Career • God could be calling you to do anything • You could be called to be a doctor to help others • You could be called to be a teacher to educate others • You could be called to be a engineer to help further technology
