University-wide center housed in PRFH • Offices on both the Medical campus and the Arts and Sciences campus to facilitate interdivisional collaborations. • Funded almost continuously by NICHD since its inception in 1971. Recently renewed through 2012. • 58 Faculty Associates from 13 departments in 4 divisions of the University

NICHD Population Centers • The Demographic and Behavioral Sciences Branch of NICHD has funded a highly regarded Population Research Centers program since 1971. • There are now 18 NICHD Population Centers funded by R24 infrastructure grants, of which the HPC is one of the oldest and most established. • This program provides a critical core of professionals to address emerging questions in NICHD priority areas: • Marriage and family change • Fertility and family planning • Teen pregnancy • Mortality • HIV risk and prevention • Children and child health.

Population Center Information Core • Claire Twose (Director) & Lori Rosman—Population librarians from Welch available to assist with population information needs • Jennifer Darragh– New data librarian assists with data acquisition needs. • Librarians are available by appointment and during regularly scheduled hours. • Information Suite (BSPH E4643) offers electronic access to publications, a conference room, and eight hours per week during which a librarian is in the suite for consultations • Web supplements to HPC seminars • Special topic presentations
