Our team aimed to organize a web design camp for 40 middle schoolers but faced challenges in coordination with schools. Although we couldn't host the camp in our initial timeframe, we successfully promoted the idea and got students excited about the upcoming summer camp. Key achievements included getting a flyer approved, presenting to classes, and effectively communicating as a team. Our collaboration showcased excellent leadership, teamwork, and engagement strategies, setting the stage for a successful summer web design experience.

Summary • We started off with the intention of putting on a web design camp for 40 middle schoolers • Finding it very hard to coordinate with teachers and the school itself, we came to the sad realization it wasn’t going to be able to happen in the time span we had • In the end, we just promoted the summer camp and got the kids pumped
Deliverables • Get 40 middle schoolers to sign up/attend web design camp • Couldn’t so we just presented the idea to classes about a summer camp • Get the flyer approved • Talk to Geo Miller • Create pre and post surveys • Didn’t do because the camp was postponed to the summer.
Leadership/Teamwork • Communication • Wiki • Facebook Group: most successful way to communicate • Dividing Work • Leader: Contact the Elizabeth Cobb, get the flyer approved, coordinate with Geo Miller about teaching, contact principal about summer camp • Group: Create flyer, pre and post surveys, present to the kids, talk to the teachers, help create lesson plans, visit classes and promote the camp • The team functioned very well together! We had a great group and everyone did their part and went above and beyond what was expected.
Equity • So far: • Created flyer & got it approved by the principal • Talked to Cobb about presenting • Presented to Ms. Collin’s yearbook class • Explained to principal that there will be a camp in the summer for her kids, no longer April 12th • Next Week: • Present to 2 more classes at Cobb
Long Term • We set the path for the summer class to hold the camp • Already talked to the kids at Cobb and told them there will be a camp as well as the teachers and principal • Created a flyer for them
