  2. Theme Passage 2 Peter 1 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great & precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

  3. LifeChange- To experience personal transformation through living out Biblical principles. For the purpose of living a life up to the potential that God has designed for His followers & desires us to fulfill.

  4. LifeChange Process Salvation + Purpose + Training + Community = LifeChange

  5. 1) Groups are the Environment in Which God Intends LifeChange to Take Place- Ecc 4:9-12 9 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.

  6. 1) Groups are the Environment in Which God Intends LifeChange to Take Place- Ecc 4:9-12 11 Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

  7. While LifeChange is highly personal, it does not take place in a vacuum. God works LifeChange in & through groups.

  8. While we may see others as a hindrance to our spiritual growth, God seems them as the avenue & expression of our spiritual growth.

  9. Proverbs 27 17 As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.

  10. 1) Groups are the Environment in Which God Intends LifeChange to Take Place- Ecc 4:9-12 Do I see the value in what other believers add to my life? Do I see the value I can add to others?

  11. 2) Biblical Community Brings Strength to LifeChange- I Peter 2 4 As you come to him, the living Stone--rejected by men but chosen by God & precious to him-- NIV

  12. 2) Biblical Community Brings Strength to LifeChange- I Peter 2 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. NIV

  13. A truly Biblical community will be a place in which LifeChange is expected & carried out with love & support.

  14. In a Biblical Community, LifeChange occurs as…

  15. We Live Out Our Design for One Another- Eph 4 15 but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ--

  16. We Live Out Our Design for One Another- Eph 4 16 from whom the whole body, joined & knit together by what every joint supplies, …

  17. We Live Out Our Design for One Another- Eph 4 16 …according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

  18. We Live Out Our Design for One Another- Eph 4 Each “part” or person has a place in the body of Christ. Realizing that we are designed for Biblical community encourages LifeChange to fulfill our purpose in & for one another.

  19. We Grow Together in Christ- Eph 4 11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, & some pastors & teachers,

  20. We Grow Together in Christ- Eph 4 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

  21. We Grow Together in Christ- Eph 4 13 till we all come to the unity of the faith & of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;

  22. LifeChange grows us not only into the image of the Lord, but close in unity to others. If you are growing spiritually, you will be taking somebody with you. If you are not growing with someone, you are merely getting more religious, not necessarily closer to God.
