  3. AF Training Doctrine AFMAN 1-1 states that people are the decisive factor in war. It is imperative that people receive the right education and training at the right time.

  4. 1C1X1 AFCFM • AF Career Field Manager (AFCFM) responsibilities • Determines Training Tasks, Requirements and Resources • Approve/Disapproves Requests for Waiver of Mandatory Training Requirements • Conduct Utilization & Training Workshops • Determines Distribution of Training Documents Such As CFETP, AFJQSs, Etc • Maintains Regular Coordination With MAJCOM, ANG, and AFRC FMs to Ensure Training Consistency and Quality • Approves Specialized Training Procedures to Include: SEI Criteria and Reviews, Identifying Core Tasks, etc.

Utilization &Training Workshop (U&TW) • A forum to determine education and training requirements, by bringing together the expertise to establish the most effective mix of formal and on-the-job training for each AFS skill level. The forum is also used to create or revise training standards, and set responsibilities for providing training. • All ATC supplemental formal training is usually approved at this forum as well; TERPS, Automation and Craftsman ADL • The Specialty Training Standard (STS) is the Schoolhouse Contract

Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP) • The Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP) is a comprehensive core training document that identifies life-cycle education and training requirements, training support resources, minimum core task requirements and a defined career path. Using the guidance provided in the CFETP ensures individuals receive effective and efficient training at the appropriate point in their career. • The unit uses part II to identify, plan,and conduct training within the career field. The CFETP part II will be utilized in training all Air Traffic Controllers including GS-2152 (civilian) controllers.

Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP) • CFETP Has Several Purposes • Management Tool to Plan, Manage, Conduct, and Evaluate Training • Identifies Task and Knowledge Training Requirements For Each Skill Level • Recommends Education/Training Throughout Each Phase of an Individual’s Career • Career Field Flow Chart • Lists Training Courses Available In The Specialty, Sources Of Training And Training Delivery Method

Apprentice Controllers • What Are They Sending Us???? • AF Classification requires AQE Score of 55 for both Mechanical and General • Graduates are performing Tasks at the 2b – 3c proficiency level • Knowledge Based Tests Minimum Score 70 % • Military Training Leaders (MTL) Ensure Military Standards Strictly Adhered to

Apprentice Controllers • What can you do to help? • Perform or Ensure an Initial Evaluation – Evaluate Formal Training By Comparing it to the STS in the CFETP • Use the Training Report Card If Available • Provide Feedback to Keesler • Report Deficiencies Using the Field Evaluation Questionnaire or Customer Service Information Line • Make Recommendations • If You Receive a Graduate Assessment Survey (GAS) Answer the Questions Truthfully and Articulately
