  2. The purpose of the atlas: • The purpose of the atlas is to find locations as cities, states, countries, towns, and continents

Teaching you how to use an Atlas • Go get a green Atlas then come back to your seat. • Now open you book to page 185 to the index and try to find Missouri. • Now find the cityBlue Springs and put your finger on it. • Now remember the number and letter that is next to it. • After that go to the Missouri page on page 152 • Next put your finger on the number and letter that the page city had next to it. • After that slide you fingers down and across till they meet and somewhere near there will show you where the city is.

  4. The parts of the atlas • Look up the Table of Contents: Where is it in the atlas? • Look up some Guide Words: What are they? • Look up the Index: Where is it in the atlas?

How to use the atlas online • Internet: World Atlas: Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, Middle East, Oceania, … — FactMonster.com • First click on the continent your city is in • Second scroll down and click the country where your city is • Third scroll down and click the state your country is located in. • Fourth find the city your looking for and now you know how to use an online atlas

  6. Conclusion • The tool is mostly used for locating a city and seeing where it is.
