The United States • Contemporary peace movement in US has been blamed for being a concern of middle-class white people. • focus on one issue at a time, as earlier concerns are abandoned and the latest issue attracts most of the energy and outrage. • motivated by a surge of popular anxiety regarding a perceived that quickly subsides, even though the underlying problem remains a serious as ever.
