  2. Launching the App • To turn on the iPad, press the Home button • Find the Geometry Designer app and tap on it. • Tap “New Document” to start a new canvas.

  4. Drawing a Line • A line is defined by two points. • Tap the . • Select line. • Tap the canvas (to dismiss the popover). • Then tap on the canvas to draw your points. • A line appears when you are done.

  5. Editing the Line • Drag one of the points with your finger and move the line. • Double tap on the line. • Tap“Color.” • Use the sliders to change the line’s color. • Tap “Done” and then tap the canvas.

  6. Next Goal Let’s add a line segment so that we make a nice angle.

  7. Line Segments • Tap the . • Select line. • Tap the canvas. • Tap on one point from your original line. Create your second point somewhere off the line. • You should have a line and a line segment connected at a single point.

  8. Measure an Angle • An angle is defined by three points. The first endpoint, a vertex, and the second endpoint. • Tap the . • Select angle. • Tap the canvas. • Tap on the three points on the screen. MAKE SURE that the second point you select is the point that the line and segment have in common.

  9. Measure a Length • Tap the . • Select length. • Tap the canvas. • Tap on the line segment. • Move one endpoint of the line segment. Notice how both measurements change.

  10. Construct a Midpoint • Tap the . • Select midpoint. • Tap the canvas. • Tap on the line segment. • Drag one of the endpoints of the line segment around. Notice how the midpoint moves too.

  11. Result Your design should look Similar to this. (Note: The measurement Values may differ)

  12. Exploration • Explore on your own. • Try to figure out what and do. • Can you draw a right triangle? • What about an equilateral triangle?
