  3. Professional Soccer Career In 1987, Mia became the youngest player of the U.S. Soccer Team.

  4. University of North Carolina Beginning in 1990 she led UNC to 4 NCAA Titles.

  5. The Years of World Cup Mia competed in her first World Cup in 1991. She played in World Cup 3 more times.

  6. Career Records 1992, Mia set a NCAA record with 33 assists & 97 goal points.

  7. College Jersey Retired 1994 her college jersey was retired as tribute to her college career.

  8. Mia was voted the 1995 Female Athlete of the Year. Female Athlete of the Year

  9. In 2003, Mia married Baseball Superstar Nomar Garciaparra.

  10. OLYMPIC GOLD In 2004 the U.S. Soccer Team won a Gold Medal.

  11. Retirement December 8, 2004 Mia Hamm retired from professional soccer.

  12. Mia becomes a Mom In March of 2007, Mia gave birth to twin girls, Grace and Caroline.

  13. National SoccerHall of Fame In 2007, on her first year of eligibility, Mia is inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame.
