  3. Three Forms of Communication • Output-based communication: • all forms of speaking and writing • Input-based communication: listening and reading • Nonverbal communication: physical behaviors such as gestures and body language

The Communication Process • Situation: • when and where communication takes place • 9 • Message: • whatever is intended to be communicated by one person to another • 9 • Sender: • the person who wishes to send the message to someone else • 9 • Channel: • the means by which the sender chooses to communicate the message

  5. The Communication Process Continued.. • 9 • Receiver: • the one for whom the message is intended • 9 • Feedback: • the way the receiver responds to the message • 9 • Interference: • anything that hinders the sender from making the message understood
