14. One Point Perspective.... One vanishing point, all lines and shapes recede to that one common point. Makes things seem as if they are vanishing into the distance.

15. Two Point Perspective 2 Pt. Perspective has two vanishing points. Left sides of shapes recede to the left vanishing point, right sides of shapes recede to the right vanishing point.

17. Practice #1: Somewhere on your notes, duplicate the steps shown to complete your own three boxes, one above the horizon line, one one the horizon line, and one below the horizon line.

Practice #1 Continued: Decide where the back edge of your shape is and, using a ruler, draw 2 more vertical lines, connecting the 2 connecting lines you already drew (see the 3rd box along the top of the worksheet). Using a ruler, draw a line that connects the bottom of the rear right vertical line to the left vanishing point. Using a ruler, draw a line that connects the bottom of the rear left vertical line to the right vanishing point. Using a ruler, redefine your actual shape, you should see the right and left sides as well as the bottom side. Now erase your extra connecting lines that extend past the shape to the vanishing point. Repeat steps 1-9 for the other 2 shapes. When finished, your space should look like the last box on the top of this worksheet.

25. 2 Point Perspective Cityscape Requirements: • Must by on 12”x18” paper, completed in pencil • 2 Point Perspective Cityscape from imagination • Must include background, middle ground, and foreground • At least 10 buildings, all done in correct 2 point perspective • Variety in building sizes • Overlapping buildings • If you are going to use shading and create values, then at least 5 buildings must have architectural details (windows, doors…). If you want to leave it as an outline drawing, then all 10 buildings must have architectural details, such as window, doors, signs, etc. • Add something that shows imagination and creativity in background, foreground or in the buildings. • Full craftsmanship rules in effect • No smudges, rips, or wrinkles (-10)
