Updating firmware on the STM32F4 Discovery Board. Is the update required ?. Depends on the date the board was produced. When you attempt to download your program in uVision It will complain if you have an outdated firmware version. If it does complain - follow these steps.

  2. Is the update required ? • Depends on the date the board was produced. • When you attempt to download your program in uVisionIt will complain if you have an outdated firmware version. • If it does complain - follow these steps.

ST Link Firmware upgrade • Exit uVision • Navigate to C:\Keil\ARM\STLink • Launch (Double click) - ST-LinkUpgrade.exe • Press the reset button the discovery board. • Click Device connect • Click yes to upgrade the firmware • If this fails unplug the USB cable from the PC and insert into a different USB socket and go back to i. • If all is ok exit the program - the upgrade is complete
