  2. The Challenge of English • Most subjects = content based course • English = skills based course • This means that there is often no clear answer – which can be VERY difficult for Multiple Choice questions

Each Question is important • There will be around 23 Multiple Choice Questions on the provincial exam • The total of the exam is 83 marks • Each MC question is worth over 1% of your final exam, and worth about 0.5% of your FINAL English grade • That means, for every MC question you get wrong on the provincial exam, you are watching your mark drop 0.5%
