  1. Journal Entries English 111

  2. Journal Entry 1 How successful was your first attempt to get onto the Blackboard web site? Explain by describing the process you used and its effect. Start by identifying the computer and location you went to; then fill in the details of the experience. Towards the end mention any changes you think would improve the activity.

  3. Journal Entry 2 (One paragraph, 10 sentences) Should circumcision be a routine operation for all male babies or not? Opinions have varied. To the end of the 1950s the general consensus was positive to avoid later medical problems. With the late 1970s, opinions began to change, and the trauma caused by the operation was no longer flagrantly dismissed in view of the minor health difficulties that might or might not develop. Now the opinion seems to be going the other way, returning to required circumcision.

  4. Journal 2 (continued) What is your opinion? Back it up with a well-developed example from your own immediate family and social circle or use one that you heard or read about. If possible read “Circumcision Pluses Said to Outweigh Risks” by Lindsey Tanner of AP (The Associated Press), Richmond Times-Dispatch, August 27, 2012. A1, A3.

  5. Journal Entry 3 How would you evaluate your English 111 class thus far? Has it been mostly a beneficial or unproductive experience? Assign it a traditional letter grade (A, B, C, D, or F) and explain your reasons for doing so. Give exact details concerning specific examples of assignments or policies that contributed to your positive or negative feelings.
