  1. E.S.P.Enrichment Services Program Central School Grades 3, 4, & 5

  2. E.S.P.Philosophy • All of us have strengths;all of us have weaknesses. • All of us have areas in which we thrive;all of us have areas where we struggle to keep up. All of us have talents. All of us have needs.

  3. The Program E.S.P.provides several programs for Central School. These include… • whole class instruction through theINC. program. • small group instruction, or PEP classes, in given subjects. • creative and artistic open door programs, open to all students.

  4. Inc.- 3rd Grade In Class Units • an intense area of study • focus on reading / writing skills • Each third grade class meets for Inc.

  5. PEP- Pullout Enrichment Program: Grades 3, 4, 5

  6. PEPpers are identified and then invited to participate in these programs. Criteria for selection subject proficiency teacher recommendations portfolios available standardized data

  7. Math PEP 3 Math CAMP Language PEP 3, 4, & 5 PEP classes include…

  8. Debate Team 4 & 5 Mad Scientists 4 & 5 PEP classes include…

  9. Art PEP 4 & 5 PEP classes include… Author, Author! Grades 3, 4, & 5

  10. In the Footprints of the Cougar A Literary Magazine featuring the writing and art work from the students of Art PEP & Author, Author PEP!

  11. Come on in! All are welcome! These classes usually meet during lunch and recess. These are open door ESP groups. All are invited to participate. Students just need permission from parents and their teachers! OtherE.S.P.Services

  12. The Main Idea This PEP group makes the news! There are three editions for the school year. Allstudents have the opportunity to participate within one publication. Important features: • Team articles • Fifth grade editors and reporters • Photography • Cartoons

  18. In June 2011, S.A.L.A.D.was selected by the Character Education Partnershipto serve as a model for others to replicate and integrate into their character education initiatives. S.A.L.A.D. is listed in the 2011 National Schools of Character book and featured on CEP’s website, which is used by educators to search for ideas.
