Research Outputs CIHR Policy on Access to Research Outputs • New requirements for recipients of grants awarded after Jan. 1, 2008: • All research papers funded by CIHR must be freely accessible through the publisher’s website or an online repository within six months of publication • Grant recipients must deposit biomolecular data (e.g. gene sequences, protein interactions) into the appropriate public database immediately upon publication of research results ; retain original data sets for a minimum of five years • Eligible “other” expense—dissemination costs in application budgets • Acknowledge CIHR funding reference number (FRN) in peer-reviewed publications • News on PubMed Canada http://www.cihr.ca/e/40685.html • Open Access Policy:http://www.cihr-irsc.gc.ca/e/32005.html • Neera Bhatnagar, Reference Librarian, bhatnag@mcmaster.ca ext 23775
