  5. How do you pronounce ‘oo’ in: • moon, spoon • blood, flood ‘oo’ sound ‘uh’ sound The letters of the alphabet is not a good guide to pronunciation. Phonemic symbols are a good guide, because each symbol represents one sound consistently.
