  1. Newton’s 1st Law By Zachary Robinson

  2. What is it? Newton’s exact words; Law I: Every body persists in its state of being at rest or of moving uniformly straight forward, except insofar as it is compelled to change its state by force impressed. -An object that is at rest will stay at rest unless an unbalanced force acts upon it. -An object that is in motion will not change its velocity unless an unbalanced force acts upon it.

  3. If there is no net force on an object, the object won’t accelerate.

  4. If there is no net force on an object, the object won’t accelerate. • If an object is in equilibrium, the net force on it is zero, and if the net force on an object is zero, the object is in equilibrium.

  5. The motion of an airplane when the pilot changes the throttle setting of the engine is described by the first law.

  6. A model rocket being launched up into the atmosphere

  7. The motion of a ball falling down through the atmosphere

  8. Have you ever been riding in a car when the driver suddenly slammed on the brakes? How did your body move as the car came to a stop? You probably felt your body move forward. When you felt this happening you experienced Newton's first law of motion
