  2. CHRISTIANITY • After studying all of these other religions and then studying Christianity it’s important to remember that God won’t force Himself on us, it’s our choice.

  3. INTELLIGENT DESIGN • Are we here by chance or by design. • Why do many agree with intelligent design with everything else but creation? • “Suppose you suddenly hear a loud bang… and you ask me, ‘what made that bang’? And I reply, ‘nothing it just happened’” (William Lane Craig).

  7. WHY CHRISTIANITY OVER ALL OTHERS? • Only one religion can be true • Many differences (Islam, Buddhism, Christianity). Have shared beliefs of all and others with you. • “Either Jesus is true and all other religions are false or other religions are true and Jesus is false. There are not other options” (William Lane Craig).

ABSOLUTE TRUTHS-SEPERATION • Definition- Something that is true for all people, at all times, and at all places. • Examples: Premarital sex, Crime, Killing, etc. • To say there are no absolute truths is an absolute truth itself which refutes itself. • From this we know atheists, agnostics, and hinduism can’t work (truth is what you want it to be).

  9. Int. Design and Abs. Truth • From intelligent design and absolute truths we have to agree that there is something more to live for than just us. • Intelligent design- a designer • Absolute truths- If there is truth, there must be someone who is true. • Is Christianity it?????

RESERUCTION • Without the Resurrection our faith is useless. • Jesus resurrection changed lives including the lives of the disciples. • The resurrection is necessary as it fulfills our redemption in accepting Christ. • Muhammad, Confucius, Buddha did not raise from the dead. They are still dead.

  14. Dead Sea Scrolls • The Dead Sea scrolls consist of roughly 1000 documents, including texts from the Hebrew Bible, discovered between 1947 and 1979 in eleven caves in and around the Wadi Qumran (Wikipedia)

  15. Dead Sea Scrolls • 1.The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in eleven caves along the northwest shore of the Dead Sea between the years 1947 and 1956. The area is 13 miles east of Jerusalem and is 1300 feet below sea level. The mostly fragmented texts, are numbered according to the cave that they came out of. They have been called the greatest manuscript discovery of modern times.

  16. Dead Sea scrolls • 2. Only Caves 1 and 11 have produced relatively intact manuscripts. Discovered in 1952, Cave 4 produced the largest find. About 15,000 fragments from more than 500 manuscripts were found. • 3. In all, scholars have identified the remains of about 825 to 870 separate scrolls.

  17. Dead Sea Scrolls • 4. The Scrolls can be divided into two categories—biblical and non-biblical. Fragments of every book of the Hebrew canon (Old Testament) have been discovered except for the book of Esther. • 5. There are now identified among the scrolls, 19 copies of the Book of Isaiah, 25 copies of Deuteronomy and 30 copies of the Psalms .

  18. Dead Sea Scrolls • 6. Prophecies by Ezekiel, Jeremiah and Daniel not found in the Bible are written in the Scrolls. • 7. The Isaiah Scroll, found relatively intact, is 1000 years older than any previously known copy of Isaiah. In fact, the scrolls are the oldest group of Old Testament manuscripts ever found.

In the Scrolls are found never before seen psalms attributed to King David and Joshua. 9.There are no biblical writings along the order of commentaries on the OT, paraphrases that expand on the Law, rule books of the community, war conduct, thanksgiving psalms, hymnic compositions, benedictions, liturgical texts, and sapiential (wisdom) writings.

  20. Dead Sea Scrolls • 10. The Scrolls are for the most part, written in Hebrew, but there are many written in Aramaic. Aramaic was the common language of the Jews of Palestine for the last two centuries B.C. and of the first two centuries A.D. The discovery of the Scrolls has greatly enhanced our knowledge of these two languages. • FYI- Aramaic, Greek, and Hebrew were the languages spoken/ and what the Bible’s original form. • http://www.centuryone.com/25dssfacts.html there are a few texts written in Greek.

  21. You Choose • The Choice is yours. • Evidence has just topped the surface. • With or without evidence what Christ has done and through His Salvation is enough for me.
