  3. Texas Brigade Camps • 5-day camps for youth • For Ages 13-17 years of age • Cost is $300, Scholarships Available • Held annually in June and July

  8. Interspersion A variety or “patchwork” pattern of habitat and cover types in close proximity to each other and connected by travel lanes.

  9. Diversity Good bobwhite quail habitat has a variety of plants that provide food and/or cover.

  10. Plant Succession The process (natural or human-influenced) of one group of plants replacing another.

  11. Edge Effect The transition zone between two different vegetative types.

  12. Water Food Cover Limiting Factor Any “weak-link” that is critical to the survival of an animal.

  13. Home Range The home range of a bobwhite quail is about 40 acres. Bobwhite quail are “sedentary” species.
