  1. Motivation Develop a framework of motivational strategies that you can apply: • in planning and selecting instructional strategies • in tasks and activities for you and your students during class • in the ways that you evaluate students and apply recognition.

  3. Planning for Motivation • Develop a comprehensive approach to motivation • Adjust motivational strategies to your instructional situation • Build motivational issues into all levels of your instructional planning

Motivational Strategies Concerning Instruction • Capture student interest in the subject matter • Highlight the relevance of the subject matter • Vary your instructional strategies throughout the lesson to maintain interest • Plan for active student involvement • Select strategies that capture student curiosity • Select strategies & present material with appropriate degree of challenge & difficulty
