  2. About the Blue Whale The blue whale is a marine mammal belonging to the suborder of baleen whales called (Mysticeti). The blue whale is 30 meters (98 ft) in length and 180 mertic tons (200 short tons) or more weight, it is the largest known animal to have ever existed. Blue whales were abundant in nearly all the oceans on Earth until the beinnging of the twentieth century . For over a century , they were hunted almost extinction by whalers until protected by the international community in 1966.

  3. Size • The blue whale is the largest mammal have ever known to lived. Blue whales are difficult to weigh because of their size. As is the case with most large whale trageted by whalers, adult blue whale have never been weighed whole, but cut up into manageable pieces first.

  4. Thearts • Due to their enormous size, power and speed, adult blue whales have virtually no natural predators. Blue whale might wounded, sometimes fatally, after colliding with oceans vessels, as well as becoming trapped or entangled in fishing gear.
