Understanding Gangs: Causes, Consequences, and Solutions

Gangs are groups of individuals who unite for social or criminal purposes, often influenced by age, ethnicity, or neighborhood. They pose significant problems, engaging in activities such as theft, violence, and murder. Understanding the underlying issues that lead to gang formation is crucial, including poverty, family problems, and social inadequacies. To combat gang violence, solutions may involve increased parental involvement, community support, and respect for individuals. Examples of notable gangs include the Crips, Bloods, and Latin Kings.
