Extending the Reach of VoIP • Traditionally there was always a connection to the Public Switched Telephone Network • SIP Trunking enables enterprises to bypass the PSTN and connect their people via IP • Combo of SIP Trunking plus VoIP Peering extends the reach of VoIP • Enables enterprises to bypass both the PSTN and the Internet • Other IP tools such as ENUM can reduce toll charges related to the PSTN
