Blue Elder • Sambucas cerulea
Yellow Green Cushion Moss • Dicranoweisia crispula • This was found everywhere bark and rock is found. So assume the majority of Moccasin Bay.
Vipers Bugloss • Echium vulgare • May I point out its purple?! • This was found near the road
Lavender • Lavandula angustifolia • Purple… Again! • Found near the road PURPLE^
Bebb Willow • Salix bebbiana • In multiple places around Moccasin Bay • Its Latin roots mean to “to leap or to spring” due to its quick growth
Thistle • Carduus • Found near the road, in the grass at the beginning of the route, and in various areas of grassy clearings. Purple And Pink!
Button Bush • Cephalanthus occidentalis • Found about eleven yards from the creek when the creek was about a hundred yards from the outlet.
The drips of seeds descending from its branches are its key defining and identifying feature. River Birch • Butula nigra • Four yards from creek, 100 yards from outlet
Lemonade Sumac • Rhus integrifolia • Found about seven yards from creek • Yes, it is sour if you eat it. JUSTIN! (everyone stare at Justin)
White Alder • Alnus rhombifolia • Found near eight yards from creek
Teasel • Dispacus sylvestris • It is awesome looking when its half dead • Found twenty yards from start of route • Start of route by the Lake Lots sign
Leafy Spurge • Euphorbia esula • Invasive species • At start of route, one yard from road.
Quaking Aspen • Populas tremuloides • Found 275 yards from start of route
Rabbitbrush • Chrysothamnus nauseosus • Found at start of journey (its 11:38 P.M. as I write this, I have no energy, so now it is called a journey) Smile. Irony has set in.
Dalmation Toadflax • Linaria dalmatica • “You sprung up like Dalmation Toadflax!” Name that line and play/movie/show. • Found near road
Skeleton Weed • Chondrilla juncea • Also called Rush Skeleton Weed • Found near road
American beech • Fagus grandfolia • Found 9 yards from creek
Wild Rose • Rosa woodsii • Found about 75 yards from road • In the underbrush area (which hurt)
Red Osier Dogwood • Cornus stolonifera • About 17 yards from creek • Also called Red Stemmed Dogwood
