Political Organization • Democracy: form of government where people are the supreme power • Dictatorship: rule by one person who has unlimited authority over others • Theocracy: a form of government run by religious figures or texts • Socialism: an economic system that is based on equal ownership and production owned by the public • Communism: a movement to create a classless, moneyless, and stateless social order

Social Organization • Matriarchal: a society that is dominated by females • Patriarchal: a society that is dominated by males • Monogamy: a marriage agreement with one other person • Polygamy: a marriage agreement with one male and multiple females • Nuclear: living situation with just the immediate family • Extended: living situation with many generations living together

  6. Economic Organization • Communism: a movement to create a classless, moneyless, and stateless social order • Capitalism: an economic system that is based on competition and private ownership
