  3. Hooks • According to an OECD report, ….. • Everyone needs a job. • A terrible incident occurred recently. • In Korea, most people like to do things fast.

Thesis statements • What is your clear and simple opinion? • Korea must change to be a country that prepares coping plans ahead. • Korea must prepare emergency response plans for the following situations. • I think the captain should receive the death penalty for three reasons. • We have to improve our safety awareness.

  5. Support • Children must be educated to improve safety. If they do not receive the training they will be in danger……. • Children must be educated in safety awareness. For example, school should start to carry out regular safety drills. In the event of a fire, students and teachers would have the skills needed to evacuate in an orderly way and hopefully save as many lives as possible. In my elementary school…. (experience? anecdote) In Seoul at the moment, (fact? statistic?)

  8. Citing • Or you can paraphrase…say the same thing with different words. • Roger Cohen, in his April 24 New York Times editorial, described Korea as a very “rambunctious” society.
