Learning for a performance. • Sharing non-fiction texts about space, rockets, the moon. Looking at features of information books. • Stories about nocturnal animals, night time and space. Sequencing and acting out story of ‘Whatever next’. • Writing – initial sounds matching to pictures, a list – what did baby bear take to the moon? Rhyming strings. Descriptions of our own alien designs. Letters to Santa. • Mathematics • Counting on and back to 10 and beyond. • Ordering and missing numbers within 10. • Saying the number that is 1 more / 1 less than a given number. • what happens at certain times of the day? Days of the week. • Noticing quantities and differences, talking about more and less. • Beginning adding – combining sets to find a total. • Using shapes to build and create rocket pictures.
