Proposition 39 (Nov. 2012)The California Clean Energy Jobs Act • Purpose • Create jobs • Increase training / develop workforce • Stimulate energy efficient retrofits and clean energy installations in schools • Funding from Corporate Tax Law Changes • $854,340 Year-One Funding for PUSD • PWP Collaborating Closely with PUSD

Senate Bill 73 (De Leon, 2013) • Specifies How Funds Will Be Allocated • K-12 schools • Community colleges • Based on average daily attendance or free and reduced price meal program participants • Participation Requirements • Designates The California Energy Commission (“CEC”) as Lead To Develop Guidelines

  4. Funding Steps • Apply for Planning Funds (received) • Complete Planning Activities • Benchmark facilities • Prioritize projects • Identify retrofit measures through audits • Create and Submit Expenditure Plans to CEC • Complete Retrofit Projects • Annual Reporting

  5. Prop 39 Collaboration • PWP Staff • Account Manager • Energy Efficiency Program Manager • Planning Meetings, Data/Info Gathering, RFQ • Facility Audits – PHS, Muir, and 2 Others • Year-One Projects • Targeted lighting/control measures • Relatively quick implementation, payback • Ongoing O&M savings • Time sensitive for PWP rebates
