  2. The Mojave What is there to knowabout the Mojave tribe? They lived in the desert. They had a hot climate where they lived. The Mojave had other tribes located near the pacific coast. They also lived along side of the banks. I will tell you many things about the Mojave such their homes , jobs, clothing, and interesting facts.

  3. Mojave Homes The Mojave homes are very unique. The Mojave had to dig a big pit before making their homes. They madepoles to make the frameof the house, and they leaves to makea flat roof. In side theyslept on woven mats. In the summer theyslept under open sidebrush shelters. In the winter they lived in homes with walls.

  4. Mojave food Do you know what the Mojave ate and how they got their food? The Mojave practiced fishing fish. They hunted , fished, planted and gathered. They hunted deer, rabbits, ground squirrels, lizards, and birds. The Mojave also ate fish such as mullets, humpback, scatters, and other fish.

  5. Mojave jobs Did you know that the Mojave members had different jobs? They spent hours making fishing nets. The men made boom ranges to kill rabbits . The men caught fish with hooks, and hand woven mats. The women’s job was to plant seeds in holes. Women often planted plants. The children fished and hunted with their families.

  6. Mojave clothing Do you know what Mojave wore? The Mojave trapped animals to make clothes. The men wore long deer clothes. Women wore aprons and knee-length skirts. On cold days they wore deer skin and rabbit skin in the winter. But they usually didn’t wear too much clothing because it was to hot.

  7. Mojave celebration What kind of celebrations did the Mojave have? The only people to lead the celebrations are those who have strength. They also had a celebration when somebody died . When somebody passed away , they would sing a song.

  8. Mojave crafts What kind s of crafts did the Mojave make? The women wove water tight baskets . The men wove baskets and nets for fishing Men wove cone- shaped baskets. Men attached along wooden poles to make a handle’s . Pots and baskets could hold water and store food . The baskets were used for caring corn meals.

  9. Mojave Did you know that the Mojave had a lot of other interesting facts about them? The Mojave poked themselves with cactus needles to make tattoos . The Mojave covered them selves with blue tattoos. The Mojave believed that performing rain dances would bring forth rain. The Mojave mixed two Indian words together to make one word. The Mojave are a great and unique California native American tribe . I wonder if there is more Native American Mojave in this world.
