  4. 45 YEARS "THE POETIC RELAY" “The conquest of books with love, imagination, diligence, writing and reading through the manifestation Pesnička štafeta (Poetic Relay) is one of the most important missions of Public Library „Žarko Zrenjanin“. This event is the most beautiful miracle of literature in our country: the miracle more than 1500 kilometers long, which lasts for two weeks every year and visits over 60 primary schools, where more than 10.000 pupils participate and where the best 12 poems are chosen between over 3000. It is the miracle which makes us more beautiful and better for more than 42 years. An important creative interaction between writers, readers, many curious, and imaginative people takes part under these fascinating numbers. Mysteries and beauties found in the world and in the books are discovered through this interaction. PUBLIC LIBRARY "ŽARKO ZRENJANIN" Public library “Žarko Zrenjanin” is very important cultural institution and gives the important contribution to the cultural development of our town and our county. With the selection of programmes and their quality we are trying to make long lasting impact to our community. On the one side, we are cherishing the tradition and we are dedicating vast attention to our traditional manifestations and publishing projects, but through constant education and through following the trends in the world librarianship we are giving our best to be interesting to our younger audience. Balancing between history and future is very rewarding because we are constantly reinventing library practices and by that we are reinforcing children, among our other users, to take active part in their future.
