  2. Most Student Achievement Measures Show Improvement • We continue to have reporting gaps in baseline data and targets due to GPS implementation.

Many Student Achievement Measures Met or Exceeded Targets • Retention in 5th and 8th grades • LEP in elementary and high school • Economically disadvantaged in reading at elementary and middle school, and in all areas at high school • High school graduation rate • High school science • ACT scores • AP/IB enrollment

  4. A Few Student Achievement Areas Declined • Students with disabilities at elementary and middle school • Schools making AYP • Norm-referenced reading scores at elementary and middle schools • Norm-referenced math scores at 5th grade • Students passing AP exams

  5. Measures in Other Goal Areas Met or Exceeded Targets • Attendance and elementary and middle schools • Interagency collaborations • Teachers using SAMS and model lessons/units available • Teacher vacancies • Construction on schedule and within budget

  6. Measures in Other Goal Areas Met or Exceeded Targets • Teacher retention • Teachers trained in GPS • Leaders trained in professional learning communities • Administrators trained • Teachers with desired endorsements • Grants and donations • Fund balance • Variance of budget to actual

Next Steps • Continue to disaggregate data and look for effective practices among school leaders • Gather and report outstanding results • Finalize Value-added School Performance System • Develop Value-added Central Support Performance System • Evaluate future measures for the Balanced Scorecard • Present recommendations to the Board – target date May 2009
