VBMPAccomplishments for 2011 • West: Base 1-ft, 4-band digital orthoimagery • 21 thousand square miles, 39 Counties, 7 cities • Cost $1,284,300 • Upgrades • NGA Area , 5 thousand sq mi, $264,400 • Localities: $397,953 ($72,796 VGIN) • Extend coverage in East, 5 Counties, 1 City - $50,640 • 6-inch resolution, 23 localities – cost $203,641 + $66,872 (VGIN) • 3-inch resolution, 3 localities – cost $85,164 + $5,924 (VGIN) • LiDAR, Radford – cost $18,626 • Contours, 11 localities - cost $24,438 • Planimetrics, 2 localities – cost $15,444 • Total Cost: $2,005,608 (67% VGIN-20% Local-13% NGA)

  13. Local Government GIS…what’s what? • Until this effort, there was no state-wide collection of information regarding GIS capabilities and services at localities. Software / Platform ? Planning ? Data distribution ? GIS Staff ? Emergency Services support? Basedata ? Maintenance schedules ? Professional training ?
