NECTEC Training Center http://see.nectec.or.th/cio/ • GCIO Intensive Training Course jointly managed by • Office of the Civil Servant Commission (OCSC) • Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) • Ministry of Science and Technology( MOST) • Launched in Sep 1998 • a special 30-hour/2 week in compulsory training program • 19 CIO intensive training courses have been carried out • 684 CIOs have completed the courses • 280 CIOs are playing their role right now • GCIO Forum / Workshop • regular gathering of GIO to meet for technology update and free exchange of ideas and cooperation among the GCIO

  38. summary • We have developed IT2010 Policy Framework and National ICT Master Plan • One of the seven strategies of the National ICT Master Plan focus on e-Government which includes the establishment of GCIOs • Training and capacity building programs are needed • Government has future plan of e-Government and GCIOs must be kept abreast with the changing technology and management trends • The need of GCIO Institution / body for facilitating and promoting ICT/CIO Development • Establishment of International Academy of CIO • International and Regional collaboration on R&D , Academic are necessary factors
