Constructivism. Origins. Began in Russia around 1910 by the artist Vladimir Tatlin. Because of the wars in Russia, many arts and artists moved to France, Britian, and eventually the U.S. Post War Constructivism.

  2. Origins • Began in Russia around 1910 by the artist Vladimir Tatlin. • Because of the wars in Russia, many arts and artists moved to France, Britian, and eventually the U.S.

  3. Post War Constructivism • During the 1950’s Constructivism thought could be seen in Minimalism and Brutalism.

  4. Constructivism Now • The most interesting recent developments in Constructivism have been in the field of architecture.

  5. Key Artists/Architects • Early: Vladimir Tatlin, Kasmir Malevich, Liubov Popova, Piet Mondrian, Walter Gropius. • Post War: Ellsworth Kelly, Donald Judd, Charles Biederman, Burgoyne Diller, Daniel Libeskind, Zaha Hadid.
