  2. COMMUNITY & VOLUNTARY SUPPORT FROM RWE • CVSC , DVSC & FLVC ARE THE LOCAL VOLUNTARY COUNCIL FOR THE COUNTIES OF CONWY, DENBIGH AND FLINT. • OUR MISSION IS TO SUPPORT AND PROMOTE VOLUNTEERS AND VOLUNTARY ACTION • THE GWYNT Y MOR SCHEME CAN SUPPORT AND GREATLY ENHANCE OUR WORK

HOW? • PROVIDING FUNDING TO GRASS ROOT COMMUNITY GROUPS ENABLING THEM TO WORK TOGETHER • GOOD GOVERNANCE IS ENSURED, AS THE LVCs SUPPORT AND MENTOR AT EVERY STAGE • OVER 15 YEARS EXPERIENCE OF DELIVERING GRANT SCHEMES, INC. EU, LOTTERY, WG, AND OTHER CHARITABLE TRUSTS • TRAINING – PART OF THE PACKAGE! • VOLUNTEERING – ADDED VALUE

  4. Current projects include: • Business Supporting Communities – LOTTERY FUNDED, 6 N.W.LVCs in partnership • BIG Community Voice – lottery funded • Digital Inclusion – Communities 2.0 • Rural Development – Key fund • Supported volunteering programme – Pan Wales

  5. PROCESS & PROCEDURE • BESPOKE SUITE OF DOCUMENTS • EXPERIENCED DEVELOPMENT OFFICERS • WIDE REACH INTO COMMUNTIES • EXISTING EXPERIENCED GAPs • YOUTH VOLUNTEERS’ PANEL • SMOOTH, SWIFT PROCESSES • PROACTIVE & REACTIVE! • GOOD GOVERNANCE GUARANTEED

  6. Volunteer Centres • Working with frontline voluntary organisations – such as MIND, RED CROSS, CHILDLINE, CONTACT THE ELDERLY, CAB, METHODIST HOME FOR THE AGED • OVER 1000 VOLUNTARY GROUPS IN MEMBERSHIP • Contact data base is considerably more.

  7. STRATEGIC AIMS • FOCUS ON GAPS – BIGGEST GAPS ARE BEING CREATED BY THE WITHDRAWL OF FUNDING TO GRASS ROOTS ORGANISATIONS • FLEXIBILITY • TARGETTED – SCORING MECHANISMS • SUSTAINABILITY – VOLUNTARY LED / VOLUNTARY OWNED • REACTIVE – FLOODING ETC.

  8. Volunteering in Wales • Around 650,000 people in Wales are involved in formal volunteering with organisations. • Around 1.5million people if this is widened to include informal volunteering • The monetary value?
