  1. Daniel Kardos AronAdrovicz Mark Rozsavolgyi The Wind Energy Alternative energy source

  2. We are going to speak about… • Dani • Mark • Aron

  3. The beginnings – history of wind energy • History • Storms • Sailboats(Egypt) • Windmills(Persian)

  4. The formation of wind • The wind is the motion of the air compared to surface of the earth. • Wind is caused by air flowing from areas of high pressure to areas of low pressure.

  5. Options • 1. Method, locally • SIS(small isolated system) • Helps sewage settlement • Lifts the water • Local energy preparation

  6. Options • Network energy production • Voltage • Current • Frequency • Technical specifications(generator type, connecting point, safety functions) • Legalbackground(ElectricalEnergy Law, thebusinessrules of thesupplier) • Thrift

  7. Production • 1979 Denmark • Kuriant, Vestas, Nordtank 20-30kW 60% export 1.5 billion dollars per year 24000 workers 4. Biggest export product

  8. International facts • 93,8 GW – 2009 • World ranking windenergycapacity • Germany • Spain • USA • India • Denmark … 32. Hungary

  9. The future • Flying power plant • Sky WindPower • The higher – more effective • Flying danger

  10. The future • Magenn rotor • Canadaian Magenn company • Horizontal turning • 120m - 350m

  11. The next is… AronAdrovicz The windfarms

  12. The wind, as renewable energy • The energy sources, available in the nature without human influence are renewable energy. • The available quantity of the renewable energy sources are not decreasing after its utilization and always regenerating. • The wind energy is the most utilized renewable energy source besides the water, solar, geothermal or the bio energy.

  13. The wind energy, as clean energy • The traditional energy sources, as coal, oil, natural gas, and the nuclear energy as well, have significant pollution on our environment. • One of the biggest challenges in the 21th century is, that we need stop the climate change, what comes from the burning fossil energy release . • The wind energy significantly saves the clean air, while the greenhouse gas emissions are zero.

  14. The wind energy in the past and today • 20 years agothewindhad insignificant role in the electricity generation – in the last two decades the capacity of the wind plant increased upto 40-times. • In 2008 the wind plants hadthe biggest share from the new power plant construction in the world, more as the natural gas plants.

  15. Conditions of the wind plants constructions • The average yearly wind speed must be above 6,0 m/s • The distance of the wind towers must be 300 metersfromeachother –, so the wind parks need enough space. • The wind plants need balancing energy generationfromotherplants, while the power of thewinddoes not always match with the consumption demands.

  16. The wind plants conditions • The wind turbine capacity is between 1-3 MW per unit. • The hub height is 80-110 m, and the blades are 70-90 diameters. • One megawatt wind plant investment costs HUF 400-500 million, eqv. EUR 1,5 – 1,8 million. • The fuel costs of the wind energy are the cheapest, plus the wind is always available from the nature without cost.

  17. The future of wind energy • The European Union’s target is that by 2020, 20% of all the energy consumption should be generated from renewable energy sources – wind energy will be the biggest contributor from that share.

  18. Windenergyin Hungary • The first wind plant was installed at 2002, in Kulcs by the Danuberiver, the size of the turbine was 600 kW capacity. • Until 2007 the wind capacity has not increasedpractically, but in the last two years in the north-west region Hungary had 138 MW new wind plant capacity.

  19. The future of wind energy in Hungary • In 2010 we have promisingchanges in our countryas far asthewindenergy is concerned: 200 MW new capacity is under construction, the government will issue building permit for 410 MW. Based on that, the built capacity will achieve the 700 MW at 2012 and the windenergywill have 3-4% share on the electricity generation. • Hungary, asthe member of the European Union, committed 900-1.200 MW wind energy for 2020.

  20. The next is… Daniel Kardos Hungarianfacts

  21. Windpowerinhungary • The wind farms in hungary • Ikervár • Hódmezővásárhely • Veszprém • Hárskút • Kisigmánd • Rábaköz • Mosonszolnok • Kulcs

  22. The first wind farm inHungary (Kulcs)

  23. Worried • Noise • Birds • Failure • What will happen in the winter with the ice?
