  1. VP of External Affairs’ Report GSA Meeting, 3/13/2013

  2. Freeh Advisory Council • Met on 2/28 • Had a conference call with Pat Hearned, President of the Ethics Resource Center (org. based out of DC, experts in institutional ethics evaluation) • Discussed 1.1: Culture Freeh recommendation • Plan outlined for how to determine all core values from various PSU stakeholders • Students, staff, faculty, and administration • Still deciding if we want to do staggered or simultaneous surveys of different interest groups (i.e. do admin first, then staff, then faculty, then students vs. just doing them all at the same time)

  3. Freeh Advisory Council • Plan is still in design stage • Trying to determine if it’s worth hurrying the process in order to catch outgoing seniors • Probably won’t rush it

  4. Sustainability Advisory Council • Met with co-chair, Matt Barnes, on 3/12 • Council recommends sustainability actions to President and University as a whole • Outlined a variety of recommendations this year that they are now trying to implement • Can find the recommendations of this group and the BoT sustainability group on green.psu.edu • Matt requested an official GSA liaison to serve on Council; likely will try to have a new liaison in place (to serve entire 2013/14 year) for their last meeting, on April 22 • Contact Dave if interested in doing this! • Currently interested in figuring out what kinds of co-sponsorships GSA can do with them for sustainability efforts • Also preparing Facilities Fee proposals, will be deciding on those in near future likely

  5. Capital Day • Tuesday April 9 – REGISTRATION NOW OPEN! • Link in GSA Newswire • Recommendation: if you definitely can’t make it to the capital that day, call your legislator to voice your opinion on the issues • If you attend or you call in that day, make sure to Tweet using the hashtag #CapitalDay2013 for publicity • Class absence not an issue: you will be given an excused absence form at the end of Capital Day • Can Publicity please think of additional advertising beyond the Newswire item? Need full coverage for this
