Tranquilizers- Slow down the central nervous system. Used for people with panic attacks or anxiety attacks. • Injected or tablet. Mainly taken orally. • If taken to high a dose can cause unconsciousness, coma or even death. Slows down the body to much.
Heroin • High Addictive. One of the most addictive drugs in the world. Made from the poppy plant. • Injected, swallowed, snorting, smoking. Side Effects: pleasurable senstaions, warm flushing of the skin, dry mouth, heavy feeling in the body. -Develop tolerance to drug quickly.
Inhalants • Inhalants- A breathable chemical vapor that produces mind- altering effects. • Types: Shoe polish, glue, aerosol air fresheners, hair spray, nail polish, gasoline, and lighter fluid. • How its used: snorted, inhaled through the device or through a bag which they call huffing.
Cont • Side Effects: Dizziness, nausea, Confusion and lack of coordination. • These effects are due to the fact that the oxygen in the inhaled breath has been replaced with a chemical that has either stimulated the heart or depressed the brain. • Causes either cardiac arrest, suffocation or brain damage.
Club Drugs • Ecstasy(MDMA) Combined stimulant and hallucinogen. • How it is used- Tablet. • Side Effects: Increased heart rate, increased blood pressure, Increased sense of smell, touch, sight, and sound. Increased body temperature. • Long Term Effects: Sleep disorders, memory loss, depression and anxiety.

Methamphetamine Methamphetamines- Highly addicitive. • Come in powder, crystal, tablets. Crystal meth. Highly addictive • After initial rush or high the user may become confused, shaky, anxious, irritable, or violent.
LSD • Overload the brain with sensory information, causing a distorted sense of reality. • Category: Hallucinogen • How it’s Taken: Usually orally, but can be administered through injection. • Side Effects- Unpredictable, can either stimulate or depress the brain. May experience hallucinations in which they may see colorful visions and mistakenly feel they have superhuman powers
